How To: Short Tai Chi Haircut

In this tutorial, we will show you a tai chi haircut.

Instructions:

Greetings. I am Maryam Ebrahimpour. I am a hairstyle, chignon, and braiding expert and instructor. I am here on Rojelab.net to show you a new haircut. This is a tai chi haircut, which falls under the fantasy haircut category. These types of haircut are often performed using electric cutters and include shearing.

I will separate a part of hair diagonally. After separating the hair layer, I will use a cutter to reduce the volume of hair. I will start cutting in line with the tail of the eyebrow or the arch. If you pay attention to the cut, it is in a 90-degree angle. You could hold the layers vertically or horizontally for the cut, but the cut must be in a 90-degree angle. This area with no hair is a design flaw with the model head we are using. However, for a human head, we will cut the hair in a 90-degree angle to make sure the cuts are the same size.

We will cut the hair diagonally toward the other ear on the left side of the head. The whole haircut must be in a 90-degree angle, with the same size and same degree of cut so it looks even and there is no line on the hair left from the cutting machine. Since this is a model head and the hair layers do not lie on top of each other like natural hair, the cut might look bad at some areas but with natural head, the hair layers will lie on top of each other completely. I will separate the next layer the same way and cut the hair diagonally in a 60-degree angle. Again, I will separate the next layer the same way and cut the hair diagonally. We can cut the hair using scissors, or cut with an electric cutter. I will do this using both a scissor and a cutter. I will cut the next layer using a scissor in a 60-degree angle to avoid cutting lines on the hair.

Use the previous layer as a guide and cut the hair in a 60-degree angle, diagonally. To reduce the volume of the hair, it is always better to use a cutter because it will cut the hair evenly, whereas a scissor might leave some traces in some areas. Nevertheless, for the part on the top, I can use scissors or cutters. I will separate another layer of hair and this time cut in a 90-degree angle. We cut the areas on top in a 90-degree angle because we want to shear the hair a few centimeters as well to give us this look. It might not look right on synthetic hair, but on human hair, it will look much better.

Again, for the next part, we cut in a 90-degree angle. Only the hair on the side of the ear remains. Hold the hair in a 60-degree angle and then cut it. This part depends on our preference. We can cut it shorter, or leave it a little longer. For the next part, I will use the guide and hold the hair in a 90-degree angle. Now start cutting using the guide. I will do the same for the next part. Hold the hair in a 90-degree angle, use your previous cuts as a guide and then cut the hair.

This part of the hair is finished. Now we are left with the hair in the front. Again, this depends on what the client wants. They might want this part a little shorter, or longer. Take a layer from the bangs and a layer from the side. Start cutting diagonally to cut one part longer and the rest a little shorter. Hold the hair in a zero degree angle. Use your guide from the side and then cut the hair. I will use my guide for the hair on the top and cut in a 90-degree angle. Hold in a 90-degree angle and cut the hair. Also for the next part, hold the hair layer and the guide next to each other and cut in a 90-degree angle.

For the last layer, hold the hair layer and your guide in your hand hold the hair in a 90-degree angle on the side and cut it. To check the cut, again, hold the hair layer and your guide in your hand hold the hair in a 90-degree angle on the side and cut it. Hold another layer of hair and check it to see if there are any traces of the cut left. If there was, you can cut the hair diagonally to remove the trace. This concludes our tutorial.
