How To: Dry Manicure

In this tutorial, we will explain the correct step by step procedure for dry manicures.

Instructions:

Greetings. I’m here today from Noghre Negar beauty salon to talk to you about nail types and possible nail diseases.

Before you start any work on your nail, you have to manicure the nail. Keep in mind that the nail is made of a very thin and delicate layer and there is some tissue around the area of the nail called cuticles. Before you start a cosmetic or beauty process on the nail, you have to remove the extra cuticle tissue from around the nail, scrub the nail and scratch its surface.

To start the work, it’s much better to use a pointed scrub tip. However, any scrub tip that you are comfortable with is good. Start from one corner of the nail, where the cuticle tissue begins, and continue to the other side, and remove one or two very thin layers of the cuticle surrounding the nail. Do not hold the scrub tip vertically on the nail, hold it in an angle and drag it across the nail surface. As you can see, this nail has been manicured before and the manicure line is still visible on the nail. This is because the scrub had been held vertically on the nail and has created a sinking line on the nail. If you hold the scrub diagonally in an almost 45-degree angle, you will never see lines like this on the nail later. I will start the process now.

What we did here was removing the extra tissue from the nail during the manicure process. Remember that if you put your thumb near the top of the nail and push on the skin a little, you can pull the tissue on the nail backward a bit and this will help you see and remove the extra tissue and cuticle from the nail much easier. We should now use a nipper to remove the extra tissue left after using the scrub to remove the cuticles. Remember that even now it’s much better to put the thumb of your hand on the finger and pull the skin upward, so you can recognize the extra tissue from the skin on the finger and then remove them.

We have now removed all the extra tissue and cuticle from around the nail. Keep in mind that you should always use a nipper with thin and sharp tips. For our next step, I will use a scrub to work around and on top of the nail to make sure I have scrubbed the nail evenly and thoroughly. To scrub the nail, use your thumb and index finger to hold and pull the skin around the nail down to expose the sides of the nail. Now use the side of a rugged scrub, which is designed for this task, scrub the corners of the nail. After scrubbing the sides, now it’s time to scrub the surface. The scrub you use on the surface must be a little softer. You could use an older scrub, which has gotten soft through time, or you could use a buff, which is a form of soft scrub.

The reason we use a soft scrub on the nail is that the nine layers that constitute the nail are very thin and all of them together are even less than one millimeter. The more you scrub the nail, the more you increase the chances of nail diseases and fungus. Therefore, we scrub the surface on the nail superficially to remove the oil and shine from the surface and prepare the nail for a manicure or other operations. To scrub the surface of the nail, I’ll put the scrub on the nail from the curved side. Meaning the curve on the top of the nail and the curve of the scrub should complement each other. This will reduce the possibility of injuring the hand.

This much scrubbing is quite enough. As I said before, the point of scrubbing the surface of the nail is to remove the oil and shine from the surface of the nail and there is no need to scrub the surface anymore. Use a pad or a brush to clean the debris and dust from the nail and then we can move to the next step, which is buffing the nail. We will always try to use fresh buffs because buffs lose their ruggedness quite fast and become useless. We buff the nail to remove the scratch lines from the nail. I’ve buffed all the nail and used the buff the same way I used my scrub. Meaning I don’t move the buff up and down on the nail, instead, we move the buff left and right on the surface.

Now let’s use our pad again to remove any residue or dust from the surface of the nail.

After buffing the nail, we have to use an even softer type of scrub. This process concludes our scrubbing phase and removes even the slightest and smallest scratches on the nail caused by our initial scrubbing. Now we can use a polish to shine and clean the nail. Now we can use an oily substance such as glycerin, olive oil, baby oil, or any other substance with a beneficial oily compound around the tissue and cuticles. Apply the ointment around the cuticles. Now use a pad to distribute the oil on the nail.

We have now finished our dry manicure. As you can see, we have preserved the natural pink color and look of the nail without creating spots on the nail without any extra scrubbing. The final polish helped us have a shiny and beautiful nail at the end. I hope this item provided you with useful information. Until next time, goodbye.
