How To: Three Methods For Haircuts

In this tutorial, we will teach you three techniques to cut hair.

Instructions:

Greetings. I’m Ebrahimpour. I’m a hairstylist and formula expert and instructor. I’m here with a tutorial on haircuts. I want to teach you about three methods in one haircut. I’ll cover shearing, minimal cuts, and also dealing with hair leprosy.

First, let’s talk about hair leprosy. We want to remove hair leprosy altogether, at the same time we want to avoid cutting the hair too short. Hold the hair in your hand and pull it so it stands straight. Brush the hair smooth, and now you can see all the hair strands affected by leprosy. While you’re holding the hair layer straight and pulled it toward yourself, use your scissor-like this to cut the strands affected by leprosy in this manner. This will remove those strands from the hair layer. Hold the next layer of hair like before and while it’s pulled straight, use your scissors to cut the strands affected by hair leprosy.

To shear, the hair, pick a layer of hair from the middle. We don’t want to use a blade, and instead, we’re going to use a scissor to shear the hair. Brush the hair and hold it in a ninety-degree angle. Twist the hair a few times and cut it with your scissor while still holding it in a ninety-degree angle. Pick another layer of hair, hold it in a ninety-degree angle, and use the previous cut as a guide. Twist the hair a few times and use your scissors to cut the tips that stick out of the layer vertically.

For the next layer, separate the hair from the back of the head to the side of the ear. Separate a layer from the middle of the hair and add a layer from the previous cuts as a guide for our cut. Brush the hair and pull it in a ninety-degree angle. Twist the hair and then shear the hair diagonally. For the last layer, close to the crown of the head, separate the hair and brush it, twist it and shear it while holding it vertically. The type of shearing we are doing here cuts maybe four or five centimeters only. If you want to shear the hair more and cut a bit longer, you will have to hold your hand a bit higher when cutting. Meaning you will have to cut at a higher degree rather than ninety degrees.

Lots of my colleagues and other women don’t like to use a shearing blade. If that’s also the case for you, you can use the exact same technique we used here to shear the hair using a scissor. You can be sure there will be no cut lines on the hair and still enjoy the stability of using scissors. Therefore, if you hold the hair at a higher degree, like 130 degrees, you’ll shear the hair deeper and you’ll cut longer. If you look at this layer of hair, you’ll notice we cut the hair a bit shorter with this one. So holding the hair at different degrees can affect how much you shear the hair. We’ll continue like this until the end.

You can cut the hair with this method even when the hair is dry and brushed like what I’m doing here, and the hair doesn’t have to be wet for this process. There won’t be any lines after the cut when you twist the hair prior. Pull the hair high, twist it, and then shear between the hair and put it back down. Only a part of the hair remains on the front of the head. This part depends largely on what the client wants. I’ll separate a part of hair from the front. I’ll hold it diagonally and pull it towards the face. I’ll cut from where the client prefers. Hold your scissor diagonally at the point you want to cut, and then cut the hair like that.

Now we can use this layer of hair as a guide. Again, let’s cut the next layer diagonally with the scissor held like this. Now let’s move to the left side of the hair and shear it. Let’s borrow a layer from the right as a guide for our first cut on the left. Now let’s start the cut diagonally at the point where the guide ends. Hold the next layer, cut while holding the scissors vertically, and shear the hair. If you pay attention, you can still see pointy strands of hair in our cut. We can brush this hair to the inside, our brush it back. We can even cut the hair in the front a bit shorter depending on what the client prefers.

This tutorial is over. I hope you have enjoyed this video. Until next time, goodbye.
