Greetings. I'm Maryam Ebrahimpour, Hair expert and haircut, braiding, formula and chignon instructor. Today I want to show you how to do a Long Bob haircut.

This is going to be a Long Bob haircut, and for this cut, we're going to focus more on our cutting angles, and that's because I've shown you Bob haircuts before using scissors and clippers or with razor combs and I want this tutorial to teach you something new.

So let's begin in the back of the head by choosing a batch of hair and holding it horizontally. I choose the length of my cut. First I'm going to start by cutting in the middle of the batch and then move to the side. For the side, I'm going to cut diagonally and in zero degrees. I want you to pay attention to what I mean by degrees. This is zero degrees. This is thirty. This is sixty and this is ninety degrees angle. So again, let's cut the side of the hair diagonally and in zero degrees. Let's do the same for the other side.

Let's separate another batch. If you want the hair to stand with a little puff at the back, you'll have to add to the angle of the cut as you move up from the back. This added angle is based on the shape of the head itself. So now we have to cut in a thirty-degree angle. Use the previous cut as a guide for how long you can cut the hair. Start cutting in the middle and in a thirty-degree angle. Use the tip of the scissor to avoid leaving marks. Let's cut the side diagonally in a thirty-degree angle using the previous cut as a guide. We cut the side diagonally because the front is supposed to be longer than the back. If you look at the way the hair stands, you can notice that the diagonal cut is obvious. Let's check again and cut in a thirty-degree angle.

I'm going to add a new batch of hair from the right. Let's cut the middle part first. Again in a thirty-degree angle and for the sides the cut is diagonal and also in a thirty-degree angle. Let's add a new batch. This time I'm going to cut in a sixty-degree angle. Let's hold a small batch from the previous cut as a guide and cut the rest. Again, according to the guide, I'm going to cut diagonally in a sixty-degree angle. Let's add a new batch from the right and cut the same way as we did with the part on the left. According to the guide, diagonally and in a sixty-degree angle. Also on the side, pull the hair to the opposite side and cut diagonally and according to the guide. Because this is a mannequin head, there's no real hair growth direction, but if you look closely, you'll notice that when I pull the hair to the side it's completely linear and when the hair is let go and falls to the side it looks diagonal. Also, the middle is about two centimeters sheared to give more volume to the back.

We're going to continue like before, only with a higher degree. As you move towards the top of the head the angle of the cut should change to a higher angle. So the whole hair was cut horizontally. Now let's separate the hair on the top of the head and let the hair on the front be for now. I'm going to brush it and choose a batch from the middle, hold it in a ninety-degree angle and cut horizontally. Now for the next part, do the same and hold the hair in a ninety-degree angle, but this time cut diagonally. The next part is the same. Let's cut diagonally in a ninety-degree angle, and I do the same for the next part.

Let's separate a small batch from the front of the hair, next to the center parting. Cut this part in a ninety-degree angle and according to the previous guide. Now I want to teach you a little trick. After you part the hair from the center, brush the hair thoroughly and tuck it behind the ear and straighten it. When the hair is straight and tucks behind the ear, check the hair length and start to cut the hair like this. When the hair is back to it's the normal position, it's gonna look diagonal and longer than the rest of the hair. Now we're going to go back to checking the rest of the hair on this side and cutting the extra hair in a ninety-degree angle.

Try to keep your balance regarding the angles of the cut. If you cut in a ninety-degree angle or whatever other angles you choose, you have to cut the whole hair in that same angle. Now I'm going to do the same for the rest of the hair on this side too. When you brush the hair, it's all going to lean forward. Finally, We're going to do the same for the hair on the other side.
